Since I'm not needed to open/close the store there's no more "well we'll have to wait and make sure no one else requests off" type responses to time off requests. I don't do resets anymore.īeing in your own category means no one is needed to "cover" your shifts in order to get time off approved, so it's a lot easier to get time off. I do 8-4:30 on days with a lot of vendors, 9-5 most other days (maybe a little later on truck days but still not closing), and 6-2 on Sunday for tags since I'm "in charge" of pricing. My schedule, so far, is pretty consistent. The way it was explained to me is that you're a leader in regards to staff, not customers. I am, however, still considered a "leader" and am on that part of the schedule. I can no longer approve returns, add points, etc so no more of those calls either. I no longer have access to NexGen so no more counting money, getting change, etc. I work in a store where I am not a key holder. My learnings haven't dropped yet so there's still a lot I don't know.
